About me

Meet Dave Betjemann — Veteran Mountaineer and Instructor

With over 40 years in the mountains and three decades of instructional experience, I’ve spent my life helping people build confidence and independence in wild places.

As a Royal Navy veteran, I taught winter skills and mountaineering for the Royal Navy Royal Marines Mountaineering Club, developing the same practical, safety-focused approach I now share with my civilian clients.

I hold Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Awards, and I’m a qualified Rock Climbing Instructor and First Aider. My mountaineering journey has taken me across the UK, the Alps, and the Andes — but my heart belongs to the Alps, summer or winter.

Whether it’s climbing, skiing, or embracing a bit of Type 2 fun in a storm, I thrive in the cold. But what I enjoy most is teaching others to explore confidently and safely — passing on the skills that turn uncertainty into adventure.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your mountain journey, I’d love to guide you there.

See you on the hill.
